The Betway Premiership standings have experienced changes following an exciting weekend of football, with several teams securing important victories and others dropping valuable points.
The biggest talking point was the Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Pirates secured a 2-1 victory over their traditional rivals, claiming all three points and strengthening their position in the title race.
The result was a disappointing one for Chiefs, who were hoping to produce a positive performance against their biggest rivals. However, the defeat means Amakhosi must quickly turn their attention to their upcoming fixtures as they look to improve their position on the log.
League leaders Mamelodi Sundowns also enjoyed a successful weekend after recording an impressive 4-1 victory over Durban City. The defending champions demonstrated their attacking strength and collected maximum points to maintain their position among the leading teams.
Marumo Gallants started the weekend with an entertaining 3-2 victory over Siwelele FC on Friday, October 30. Both teams found the back of the net, but Gallants eventually secured the win.
Saturday also produced several important results across the league. Kruger United defeated Richards Bay 3-1, while Chippa United claimed a 2-0 away victory against Stellenbosch FC.
AmaZulu FC continued their positive campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows. The result gave Usuthu another valuable three points as they look to remain competitive in the league.
Polokwane City and TS Galaxy shared the points after playing out a goalless draw. Neither side managed to find the breakthrough, meaning both teams had to settle for one point.
Milford FC also recorded an important victory after defeating Sekhukhune United 1-0. The result provided Milford with a valuable opportunity to improve their position in the standings.
The weekend's matches once again highlighted how competitive the Betway Premiership has become, with teams fighting for points at different ends of the table.
For Orlando Pirates, the derby victory will provide additional confidence as they continue their push for the league title. Sundowns will also be pleased with their convincing win over Durban City.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will need to respond positively after losing to their Soweto rivals. With several matches still to come, the battle for points remains open, and the teams will have to maintain consistency if they want to achieve their respective ambitions this season.
