Dan Malesela, coach of Chippa United's DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team, has allegedly been let go after a losing streak.

As the club's management seeks to improve the team's performances in the reserve league, the reported decision signifies another shift within the technical structures of the Eastern Cape-based club.

Malesela has coached for a number of teams throughout his career in South African football, including Chippa United. When he supposedly leaves, it will be a big deal for the club's DDC team, which plays in the Premier Soccer League's lower division.

There is currently no information available regarding the specifics of his departure, although reports indicate that it is related to the team's disappointing performance.

As the club has progressed and sought better results, Chippa United, also known as the Chili Boys, has gone through multiple personnel changes within their technical staff. Coaches are under constant pressure to perform to the standards set by the club's management, as shown most recently by Malesela's situation.

Young footballers benefit greatly from the DStv Diski Challenge because it gives them a chance to play against other teams and hone their abilities. As an added bonus, the tournament is a stepping stone for talented footballers aiming to make it to the senior leagues.

This is why Chippa United's overall approach to player development revolves around keeping a strong reserve squad.

Another major development in Malesela's association with the Chili Boys is his reported departure from the DDC side. Malesela has previously coached the club's senior team.

Now everyone is wondering what the club will do about the coaching situation and what its next move is. It is still unknown if Chippa United will hire a permanent coach right away or if they will hire an interim coach to assess their options.

Despite the rumored leadership change, the club will be focusing on improving results and ensuring the continued development of its young players.

There has been no confirmation of an official announcement, a possible successor, or Malesela's next professional step.
