Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bathusi Aubaas delivered an outstanding performance against Golden Arrows, producing an impressive all-round display that could rank among his finest performances since joining the Brazilians.

The former TS Galaxy midfielder demonstrated his quality, composure and tactical intelligence in the middle of the park, playing an influential role in Sundowns' performance. His contribution was evident in several aspects of the game, particularly his passing accuracy, ability to progress possession and defensive awareness.

Aubaas was particularly impressive when distributing the ball, recording 99 touches and completing 84 of his 89 attempted passes, giving him an excellent passing accuracy of 94 percent. His ability to move possession forward also stood out, as he completed 17 of his 19 attempted passes into the final third, achieving an accuracy of 89 percent.

The midfielder further demonstrated his passing range by completing eight accurate long passes from 10 attempts. He also showed confidence when carrying the ball, successfully completing both attempted dribbles and recording four progressive carries.

In the attacking third, Aubaas completed 20 of his 24 attempted passes and created one key pass, highlighting his involvement in Sundowns' efforts to build attacking opportunities.

Defensively, he was equally effective, making three recoveries and two interceptions while winning four of his seven duels. These statistics reflected his ability to contribute both in possession and when his team needed defensive protection.

His impressive performance earned him a 7.8/10 rating, further highlighting his influence against Abafana Bes'thende.

The display comes at an important time for Aubaas, who faces competition from several quality midfielders at Sundowns. With the club competing for domestic and continental honours, consistent performances will be essential for players hoping to secure regular opportunities.

If Aubaas can maintain this level of performance, he could strengthen his position in the squad and become an increasingly important option for the technical team.
