Pyramids FC head coach Rulani Mokwena has reportedly approached the club's management with a transfer request following the Egyptian giants' impressive start to the 2026/27 football season.

The South African tactician is seemingly keen to build on the team's positive momentum by strengthening his squad as the campaign progresses.

Despite making an encouraging start to the season, Mokwena is reportedly looking at opportunities to improve the quality and depth of his playing personnel. The coach understands that maintaining consistency over a long campaign requires a competitive squad capable of handling the demands of multiple competitions.

His reported transfer request could be an indication of his ambition to take Pyramids to another level and ensure that the team remains competitive in its pursuit of silverware.

Mokwena has built a reputation as an ambitious coach who places significant emphasis on tactical organisation, attacking football and squad development. His latest reported move suggests that he is already thinking about how to keep the team progressing rather than becoming comfortable with its current performances.

The club's response to his request will be closely watched, particularly as Pyramids look to sustain their impressive beginning to the 2026/27 campaign.

For Mokwena, the priority appears to be ensuring that Pyramids have the necessary resources and quality to compete for major honours and maintain their position among Egypt's leading football clubs.
