Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed that their Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final encounter against Siwelele FC will be played in Polokwane on Sunday, November 8, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00. The announcement brings an end to uncertainty surrounding the venue as the Soweto giants prepare for an important knockout fixture.
The club confirmed that it had received official communication from the Premier Soccer League (PSL), which finalised arrangements for the highly anticipated quarter-final. Chiefs also used the announcement to encourage their supporters to travel to Polokwane and give the team the backing it needs as they fight for a place in the semi-finals.
In a message directed at the Amakhosi faithful, the club expressed excitement about the fixture and called on supporters to create an energetic atmosphere at the stadium.
Chiefs are expected to attract significant travelling support, given their large fan base across the country and the importance of the competition. The confirmation of the venue, date and kick-off time will also allow supporters to make the necessary travel arrangements ahead of Sunday's encounter.
For the Glamour Boys, the match represents an important opportunity to keep their hopes of winning silverware alive. Having reached the quarter-final stage, they will be determined to produce a strong performance and secure qualification for the last four.
However, Siwelele FC will be equally motivated to cause an upset and prevent Chiefs from advancing in the competition. The encounter is therefore expected to provide an interesting contest, with both teams understanding what is at stake.
Chiefs will now turn their attention to preparations for the match, knowing that a victory would bring them closer to the Carling Knockout Cup final. With the arrangements officially confirmed, the focus has shifted to the pitch, where Amakhosi will be expected to deliver when they face Siwelele in Polokwane.
