Frosler Reacts To CAF Exit, Looks Ahead To Galaxy

Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler has urged his teammates to put their disappointing CAF Confederation Cup elimination behind them and shift their attention to the domestic competitions, with crucial fixtures against TS Galaxy and Orlando Pirates approaching.

Amakhosi face TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 before turning their attention to the highly anticipated Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership. With two important matches coming up, Frosler believes the team must remain focused and use the opportunity to turn their season around.

Chiefs have endured a difficult start to the campaign, having suffered an early exit from the MTN8 at the hands of Lamontville Golden Arrows before being eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup in the second preliminary round. These setbacks have increased pressure on the team, despite their unbeaten record in the league.

Speaking to the club's media, Frosler admitted that the continental disappointment was difficult to accept. However, he stressed that the players could not afford to dwell on the defeat and needed to concentrate on the challenges ahead.

The defender acknowledged that Chiefs fought hard in the second leg against their Zambian opponents after losing the first encounter. Despite their efforts to recover, Amakhosi ultimately failed to secure progression in the competition.

Frosler believes the Carling Knockout presents an important opportunity for Chiefs to compete for silverware and restore confidence among their supporters. Winning a trophy remains one of the team's major objectives this season, making their upcoming cup fixture particularly significant.

However, the defender is aware that TS Galaxy will provide a difficult challenge, considering their performances in previous meetings with Chiefs. Amakhosi will need to produce a disciplined performance to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Although the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates is fast approaching, Frosler insists that defeating TS Galaxy must come first. Tuesday's cup encounter will also offer Chiefs an opportunity to build momentum ahead of Saturday's derby.

For Amakhosi, success in the Carling Knockout could provide a much-needed boost after their disappointing cup exits and help them regain belief as they pursue their remaining targets this season.
