Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates both claimed convincing victories in the latest round of DStv Diski Challenge fixtures, while Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 1–1 draw by Polokwane City across a weekend that produced 10 goals in total.
Runaway leaders Amakhosi stretched their perfect start to six consecutive wins, beating Siwelele FC 2–0 to open up a five-point gap at the summit. Tashiel Rugananan got the opener as early as the seventh minute. Despite being reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute — Emile Dortley receiving his second red card of the campaign — Chiefs showed grit, sealing the result with a stoppage-time second goal to keep their 100% record intact.
Orlando Pirates delivered the performance of the day, routing Sekhukhune United 5–0 to climb into fourth place. The heavy defeat did not affect Sekhukhune’s standing, however, as they remain second in the table.
Elsewhere, Golden Arrows moved into third following an impressive 2–0 success over TS Galaxy. Chippa United and newcomers Milford FC shared the spoils in a 1–1 stalemate, while title contenders Mamelodi Sundowns were frustrated by Polokwane City, settling for a 1–1 draw that allowed Chiefs to pull further clear at the top.
The race at both ends of the table is taking shape — and Chiefs are making an early statement of intent.
