From Chiefs to Pirates: 14-Year-Old Wonderkid Takes a Major Step Forward

Fourteen-year-old Jacob Serman is attracting attention in Gauteng football after reportedly earning an opportunity to train with Orlando Pirates’ DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) squad.

The young footballer, nicknamed “Messi” because of his technical ability and flair on the ball, is making promising progress in his football journey. His latest opportunity could provide valuable experience as he continues to develop his skills and gain exposure to a higher level of competition.

Serman’s journey has also attracted interest because of his previous association with Kaizer Chiefs before joining Orlando Pirates. The move has added another talking point for supporters of the two Soweto rivals, who closely follow the progress of emerging football talents.

Training with Pirates’ DDC squad could give the teenager an opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, improve his tactical understanding and adapt to the demands of competitive football.

At just 14 years old, Serman still has a long development journey ahead of him. While his nickname has drawn comparisons with Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, his future success will depend on continued hard work, discipline and the opportunities available to him.

For now, the reported training opportunity represents an encouraging step in the youngster’s football development, with supporters likely to watch his progress with interest.

However, the details of the training opportunity and Serman’s current registration status have not been independently verified.
