After Tshepang Moremi's Star Shines for the Pirates, Ouaddou Urges Bafana Bafana to Give Him Another Chance

Tshepang Moremi is still a quality winger with a lot to give South African football, according to Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who thinks the gifted player deserves another chance to play for Bafana Bafana.

The 26-year-old recently put on a show for the Buccaneers, helping the team to a 3-0 Carling Knockout Cup semifinal victory over Milford FC in Orlando. He scored twice and added an assist. In addition to solidifying his status as a pivotal offensive player for the team this season, his outstanding performance propelled the reigning champions to the quarterfinals.

Moremi has been important to Pirates' campaign, and his two goals today bring his total to seven for the season across all competitions. Pouaddou thinks the winger deserves top-tier recognition for his dedication, tenacity, and battling spirit, all of which have been on display in his recent performances.

The Pirates coach was pleased with Moremi's development and lauded the forward for always providing 110%. He thinks the player's efforts on the pitch are now paying off with goals and useful contributions.

Ouaddou was irritated by Moremi's recent national team experience, though. The winger did not get any playing time in last month's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea, despite making an appearance for South Africa in their international friendly against Egypt.

Ouaddou thinks Moremi deserves another opportunity to show what he can achieve in the Bafana Bafana system. When it comes to future international assignments, the coach is certain that the winger has the attributes that could help the national team.

As the Pirates get ready for crucial matches, Moremi is expected to keep up his good form. If he can maintain this level of consistency, he may be able to earn another call-up to the national team.

Ouaddou has made his stance known: Moremi deserves a chance to show himself on the international scene. Whether Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos reconsiders the winger is unclear.
