Arsenal will have to pay around €50million (£41.8m) to sign Club Brugge star Nicolo Tresoldi, according to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg understands the Gunners have developed a firm interest in Tresoldi, who is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe.
The 22-year-old has scored 12 goals in 14 games for Brugge this season, including a hat-trick against Inter Milan in the Champions League earlier this month.
Arsenal are believed to have a healthy relationship with Belgian giants Brugge having signed Greece winger Christos Tzolis from them in July.
However, the Premier League champions will need to spend more than the €40m (£35m) they paid for Tzolis in order to land Tresoldi.
Transfer reporter Plettenberg claims Brugge told Barcelona they wanted €50m to part ways with Tresoldi in the summer transfer window.
La Liga giants Barcelona reportedly baulked at the asking price and opted to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for €10m (£8.3m) instead.
Brazil international Jesus has been a revelation for the Blaugrana this season, scoring four goals in eight appearances for Hansi Flick's men.
Arsenal pursued several forwards in the summer
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to be linked with a number of forwards after they tried to make a marquee addition to their front line in the summer.
The Premier League champions pursued deals for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and Juventus star Kenan Yildiz.
However, Arsenal were unable to extract any of those players while offloading Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli to Besiktas and Al-Hilal respectively.
Arsenal return to action when they travel to League Two outfit Fleetwood Town in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup this evening.
Mikel Arteta’s side have made a strong start to the 2026-27 season, losing just one of their 13 games in all competitions.
Arsenal are joint-top of the Premier League with Manchester City on 21 points and are seventh in the league phase of Champions League on seven points.
Brugge, on the other hand, are just behind them in 11th place in Europe’s premier club competition, thanks to the goalscoring heroics of Tresoldi.
The Germany Under-21 international scored a stunning hat-trick to help Brugge beat Sint-Truiden in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday.
