Soriba Diaoune scored his first Champions League goal with a superb individual effort for Lille, showcasing the Guinea forward’s pace, composure and finishing ability.
The move began when Alexsandro played a pass in behind the defence. Diaoune accelerated away from his marker before carrying the ball into the penalty area. With only Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir to beat, he calmly rounded him and finished with his left foot into an empty net.
The goal was a composed piece of play from the young Guinean, who marked an important stage in his development on Europe’s most prestigious club competition platform. It also represented a significant moment in the early stages of his career.
On Wednesday 21 October, LOSC host Galatasaray at stade Pierre-Mauroy in the third round of the league phase of the Champions League.
The European fixture gives Diaoune another opportunity to demonstrate his ability and underline the potential he has shown so far.
