Club Africain and TP Mazembe meet again with CAF Champions League place at stake

Club Africain and TP Mazembe remain evenly poised after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The sides meet again on Sunday, 25 October 2026, at 16:00 GMT in the second leg of their CAF Champions League second qualifying round tie. The match will be played at the Stade olympique Hammadi-Agrebi de Rades.

Coverage will be available on beIN CONNECT MENA HD, beIN Sports MENA 1 HD, SuperSport Variety 4 HD, Azam Sports Channel and Canal + Sport Afrique.

Club Africain hold the advantage

Club Africain return to Tunisia with a valuable away draw after Alain Kante quickly cancelled out TP Mazembe’s opener in the first match.

The result gives the hosts a strong position ahead of the decisive fixture. A goalless draw in Rades would be enough for Club Africain to progress, with the away goal from the first leg counting in their favour.

TP Mazembe controlled much of the match in Kamalondo but failed to turn that possession into enough clear chances. Their lack of sharpness was also linked to the extended interruption to the domestic championship in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which has affected the team’s match rhythm.

The Congolese club now have no alternative but to score in Tunis if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the group stage alive.

Record favours TP Mazembe

The previous meetings between the clubs have been limited to three CAF Champions League matches before this return fixture. TP Mazembe have never lost against Club Africain, recording one victory and two draws.

That record includes a notable encounter which has remained particularly memorable, although Club Africain will take confidence from the first-leg result and the advantage of playing at home.

Prediction

Despite the expected pressure from the crowd in Rades, Africafoot’s prediction is that TP Mazembe will produce an away victory.

The Congolese side have considerable experience of major continental fixtures and are regarded as capable of raising their performance in difficult away matches. Their need to find a goal should also lead to a more attacking approach than in the first leg, while their finishing could prove decisive.

Africafoot’s predicted result is a 2-1 win for TP Mazembe.

The published betting odds list TP Mazembe at 1.80 to win, with a draw priced at 3.50 and a Club Africain victory at 3.20.
