Irvin Khoza Congratulates Wiliete Coach Beto Bianchi After Mamelodi Sundowns Exit

After Angola's Wiliete SC eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns from the CAF Champions League, head coach Beto Bianchi said that Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza phoned him to congratulate him.

As per Bianchi, Khoza contacted Wiliete after their remarkable performance against the South African powerhouses, who were tipped to advance in the continental tournament. The Angolan club reportedly made the historic call after securing a spot in the following round.

At Loftus Versfeld, Wiliete held Sundowns to a 1-1 draw in the second leg, ensuring their advancement. An unexpected conclusion to Sundowns' Champions League campaign ensued as a consequence of the outcome, as the Angolan team advanced on away goals.

Sundowns have become one of the top teams in Africa thanks to their domination at home and regular appearances in continental events; so, their elimination is a major disappointment. Questions about their performance will be raised by their elimination, especially after losing to a team that was hell-bent on making history.

The win, nevertheless, is a huge victory for Bianchi and his squad. The fact that Wiliete has never before made it this far in the CAF Champions League shows how ambitious the club is and how well they can compete with more experienced clubs.

Being a member of one of South Africa's most famous football teams, Orlando Pirates, Khoza's alleged gesture has also garnered notice. The fact that he chose to congratulate Bianchi shows how much respect Wiliete have received for their continental stage performance.

With this success under their belts, Wiliete may be better equipped to face the difficulties that lie ahead. The Angolan team might acquire experience and further solidify its status in African football if it advances to the group stage.

Sundowns, however, must focus on their pending obligations after their dismal continental departure.
