Ghanaian teenager Abubakar Saddick secures move to Spanish side Málaga CF

Ghanaian football prospect Abubakar Saddick has secured a move to Spanish club Málaga CF after leaving local youth outfit Inter Royals Football Club, marking a significant step forward in his young career.

The 18-year-old left-back is expected to continue his development with the Spanish club’s reserve team as he adapts to European football and works towards earning greater opportunities within the club.

Inter Royals Football Academy confirmed the transfer in a social media post, expressing pride in seeing one of its young talents secure an opportunity to continue his football journey in Spain.

“Another dream taking shape! One of our own has officially landed in Spain to join Málaga CF. This is a proud moment for Inter Royals Football Academy as we continue to nurture talent and create opportunities for our players to reach greater heights. The journey continues, and the future is bright! From Inter Royals to Spain — the dream is alive!” the academy posted.

Saddick’s move represents another opportunity for a young Ghanaian footballer to gain exposure to a European development system, where he will be expected to improve his technical ability, tactical understanding and overall performance.

The teenage defender is expected to begin his spell with Málaga’s reserve side, giving him the opportunity to compete and gain valuable experience as he adjusts to the demands of Spanish football.

He is also expected to have opportunities to train with the club’s first team, which could provide valuable exposure to senior-level football and help him understand the standards required to progress to the highest level.

For Saddick, the immediate challenge will be to settle into his new environment, impress the technical team and establish himself within the club’s development structure.

His progress will be closely watched as he seeks to build on the opportunity and potentially follow in the footsteps of other Ghanaian players who have developed their careers in Europe.

The move also highlights the role of youth academies such as Inter Royals in identifying and developing promising footballers before creating pathways for them to pursue opportunities abroad.

With his European journey now beginning, Saddick will hope to make the most of the opportunity at Málaga CF and continue progressing towards his ambition of playing at the highest level.
