Another blockbuster clash is loading and on its way as Chanmari FC are ready to start their Indian Football League (IFL) 2026-27 season when they lock horns against Shillong Lajong FC in an away clash to prove their worth from the very beginning of the start.

Shillong Lajong FC are poised to make their second win in the IFL 2026-27 season against Chanmari FC on Friday, 6th November, 2026 from 18:30 IST at the JLN Stadium, Shillong, as both of the sides are looking to secure three important points to gain the momentum from the start.

We can expect this to be a thrilling clash between these two sides when they meet, as Chanmari FC are the one side that looks to take all three points from this away fixture.

The Stakes

Shillong Lajong FC

After defeating Mohammedan SC in the IFL 2026-27 season’s first game, Shillong Lajong FC, which has been in tremendous form in the last IFL season, became the runners-up, just a little behind Diamond Harbour FC, who anyhow clinched the title and got promoted to the ISL but didn’t manage to make their way to the Indian football ecosystem due to some internal issues.

But football is returning to the home of Shillong, as JLN Stadium in the mountains is set to welcome Chanmari FC to play at the highest level, as Boby Nongbet’s squad looks up to the game and needs to carry forward the home advantage with a full swing, as a big win in their second game not only extends their winning streak but also gives them the needed tempo to outclass and gain confidence.

Chanmari FC

It is going to be an away clash in which Chanmari FC, a Mizo-based football club, will make their return in the IFL 2026-27 season after playing very decent football in the 2025-26 season under the guidance of Dipankur Sharma, who even managed the Diamond Harbour FC’s reserve squad.

In recent times, Chanmari FC has produced some good gameplay in the Mizo Premier League, standing second in the points table just behind Aizawl FC, as things stand, the Mizo-based football club are all set to play with a tested squad that has been featuring in a regular manner in the domestic tournament.

Both sides have their full squad apart from any injuries, and they are ready for their IFL 2026-27 season clash, which marks an important game of this new campaign.
