BKFC President Dave Feldman has received a message from the former boxing world champion, putting his name in the hat to fight Darren Till next.
The former UFC welterweight title challenger has fought twice in the BKFC ring so far and he still has one fight left remaining on his current contract.
Despite that, ‘The Gorilla’ can see himself having a long-term future with the soaring promotion, and he has credited his relationship with the president, Dave Feldman, for that.
And despite Till having missed out on a boxing fight against Jake Paul even though negotiations were at an advanced stage, talks have already begun for Till‘s next fight in the squared-circle.
According to BKFC president, Feldman, despite Till missing out on a clash against Paul, he has several big options for his next fight, which will at least soften the blow of missing out on a big payday against ‘The Problem Child’.
Feldman has told Bloody Elbow in an exclusive interview that former WBA super middleweight champion Rocky Fielding has reached out to him in an attempt to secure a fight against ‘The Gorilla’ in the BKFC ring.
“We’re in talks with some really really big names that would make sense for this as well, every fighter is hitting me up, for instance, I’m not saying we’re gonna do him, but Rocky Fielding just hit me up there are a lot of guys that want to fight Darren Till, he’s a target now, and I think because we’ve made him, he was already very popular but BKFC sky-rocketed him a little bit and he’s a target right now and everyone wants to knock the top guy off the block.
“We’ll see what happens but I can promise whoever we pick for Darren Till, the crowd and the fans are going to be very excited about it,” Feldman continued.
Fielding hasn’t fought since November last year when he took on Simion Tchetha, knocking out the 16-13-2 boxer in the third round of what was a bizarre fight. Despite that, though, the Scouser has shared the ring with some of the best boxers in the world, as back in 2018 he fought Canelo Alvarez, attempting to defend his WBA super middleweight title. Unfortunately for the Brit, he was finished with body shots in round three.
Over the years, Till and Fielding have had several back-and-forth’s online, which first started when the 33-year-old left the UFC, leading to Fielding asking for a boxing fight against Till. Despite ‘The Gorilla’ accepting his callouts, the fight has never come to fruition. Now, though, with BKFC continuing to put on mega events, Fielding has been shortlisted as a potential next opponent for the combat sports star.
