Arsenal Fans Slam Star After Awful Display vs Hull City as They Call Him ‘Arteta’s Worst Signing’

According to a report by GiveMeSport on November 7, 2026, Arsenal fans have criticised Christos Tzolis following his disappointing performance in the Gunners' narrow 1-0 victory over Hull City, with some supporters describing the Greek winger as one of Mikel Arteta's worst signings.

Arsenal maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table after securing all three points at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. However, despite the victory, Tzolis became a major talking point among supporters after struggling to make a significant impact during the encounter.

The Gunners endured a frustrating afternoon against Hull, particularly during the first half, as their attacking players found it difficult to create clear opportunities. Although Arsenal eventually secured the victory through Martin Ødegaard's 72nd-minute goal, questions were raised about the contribution of some of their attacking options.

Tzolis was handed a starting opportunity on the left wing, making his seventh Premier League appearance of the campaign. However, the 24-year-old struggled to influence the game and was replaced by Eberechi Eze in the 69th minute.

The Greek international arrived from Club Brugge for approximately £34 million and was initially expected to provide additional depth rather than immediately become Arsenal's first-choice option on the left flank.

However, the club's failure to secure a marquee left-wing signing during the summer transfer window has given him more opportunities to establish himself in Arteta's starting eleven.

Arsenal had previously explored moves for several attacking players, including Morgan Rogers, Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez, but failed to complete deals for any of them.

Rogers eventually joined Chelsea from Aston Villa, while Vinicius committed his future to Real Madrid. Alvarez also remained at Atletico Madrid amid reported interest from Barcelona.

Following Tzolis' latest performance, several Arsenal supporters took to social media platform X to express their disappointment.

One fan wrote: "Tzolis tops Gyokeres as the worst signing we've made with Arteta and that says a lot."

Another supporter questioned his place in the starting eleven, describing him as arguably Arsenal's worst winger signing since Willian.

A different fan was even more critical, writing: "Tzolis is garbage man."

Other supporters also compared his performances unfavourably with Gabriel Martinelli, who recently left Arsenal for Al-Hilal.

Despite the criticism, Tzolis still has opportunities to improve and establish himself at the Emirates. With the January transfer window approaching, his performances could become increasingly important as Arsenal continue their pursuit of the Premier League title.
