Three Real Madrid Fringe Stars Who Mourinho Believes Will be Important This Season

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Wednesday October 28, 2026, Real Madrid endured an inconsistent beginning to the season under Jose Mourinho, delivering several unconvincing performances before the international break. However, tactical adjustments have recently improved the team's performances and overall confidence.

The Portuguese manager has gradually reshaped his approach, finding better ways to utilise his available players. Real Madrid's impressive victory over Barcelona has further strengthened his belief in the squad's depth and quality.

According to Defensa Central, Mourinho increasingly believes Endrick, Eduardo Camavinga and Bernardo Silva can become important figures this season. All three initially struggled for regular opportunities but have recently strengthened their positions.

Endrick offered an encouraging demonstration of his abilities when introduced as a substitute against Roma. His impressive performance on the right wing subsequently earned him a starting opportunity against Sevilla in La Liga.

Meanwhile, Camavinga and Bernardo Silva started together against RB Leipzig, producing an encouraging partnership. Bernardo subsequently retained his place against Barcelona, demonstrating Mourinho's growing confidence in the experienced Portuguese midfielder.

Camavinga also influenced the Clasico despite beginning on the bench. The Frenchman produced an excellent forward run before assisting Kylian Mbappe's winning goal, highlighting his ability to contribute during crucial moments.

Following the Leipzig encounter, Mourinho praised both midfielders, explaining that Bernardo's performance made him forget about Arda Guler, while Camavinga's display similarly reduced his concerns about Aurelien Tchouameni.

Mourinho wants Real Madrid to remain competitive across every competition, making squad rotation essential. Brahim Diaz could also benefit from increased opportunities as the manager searches for effective alternatives to his regular starters.

Bernardo Silva could become a regular partner in central midfield, particularly with Federico Valverde operating at right-back. His technical ability and composure would provide Madrid with greater control during demanding encounters.

Camavinga offers a different option through his energy, defensive contribution and ability to progress possession. His qualities could prove especially valuable when Mourinho requires greater dynamism rather than Bernardo's measured approach in midfield.

Endrick provides additional versatility across the attacking line, allowing Madrid to rest established forwards without sacrificing attacking threat. Mourinho must balance opportunities carefully, ensuring his extensive squad remains motivated throughout the demanding domestic and European campaigns.
