According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday October 22, 2026, Barcelona legend Gerard Pique has boldly predicted a 4-1 victory for the Catalan giants against Real Madrid ahead of Sunday's highly anticipated El Clasico.
The former Barcelona defender shared his thoughts on the upcoming showdown in a video posted on TikTok, where he compared players from both teams and largely favoured his former club.
Pique, who remains closely associated with Barcelona, appeared confident that Hansi Flick's side could produce a dominant performance against their bitter rivals. He also made several debatable selections, including choosing Joan Garcia over Thibaut Courtois, Pedri over Federico Valverde and Lamine Yamal ahead of Jude Bellingham.
His most controversial comparison was his decision to favour Anthony Gordon over Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe, a choice likely to spark plenty of discussion among football fans.
Pique ended the video with a dig at Jose Mourinho, recalling the Portuguese manager's first visit to Camp Nou as Real Madrid boss, when Barcelona famously secured a 5-0 victory.
“The first time Mourinho went to the Camp Nou, he lost 5-0. I predict 4-1,” Pique said, making his expectations for Sunday's encounter clear.
However, Barcelona will need to deliver a strong performance to justify the former defender's confidence. Flick's team are coming off their first defeat of the season against Paris Saint-Germain, while injury concerns have created additional challenges ahead of the Clasico.
The availability of key players could prove crucial, particularly against a Real Madrid side that has shown encouraging form. With Mbappe providing a significant attacking threat, Madrid have the quality to punish defensive mistakes and make life difficult for Barcelona.
Barcelona, meanwhile, will hope that Yamal's creativity, Pedri's control in midfield and their overall attacking movement can help them dictate the game. Flick will also need his players to remain disciplined defensively and avoid giving Madrid opportunities to exploit spaces on the counterattack.
Pique's prediction has added another talking point to the build-up, but the former defender's loyalty to Barcelona means his comments should be viewed as an expression of confidence rather than an objective forecast.
