According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday November 1, 2026, Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has shared his thoughts after Fulham played out a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in their Premier League encounter on Saturday.

Fulham travelled to Villa Park hoping to secure all three points but had to settle for a draw despite producing an encouraging performance against Unai Emery's side.

Aston Villa took the lead six minutes before half-time through Nicolas Jackson, who finished off an opportunity created by Johan Manzambi.

However, Fulham responded after the break and eventually found an equaliser four minutes after the hour mark.

The visitors drew level following an own goal by Zion Suzuki, ensuring that both teams shared the points after an entertaining encounter.

Speaking after the game, Bassey expressed satisfaction with Fulham's overall performance, praising his teammates for their efforts against a quality Aston Villa side.

The Nigerian international acknowledged that playing at Villa Park was a difficult task but was pleased with the way Fulham approached the match.

"A good away performance, we know how hard it is to come here against a team with a lot of quality. I'm proud of the boys, they did well," Bassey told Fulham's official website.

Despite his satisfaction with the team's display, the defender admitted that Fulham could have left Birmingham with all three points.

Bassey pointed out that his teammates missed two clear opportunities inside the six-yard box, which could have made the difference in the encounter.

"We should have got more, missed two chances inside the six-yard box," he added.

The draw means Fulham have now collected seven points from their last three Premier League matches, maintaining their recent positive run of form.

Bassey's comments reflect the team's mixed feelings following the encounter, with the defender pleased with the performance but disappointed that Fulham could not convert their opportunities into a victory.

Fulham will now look to build on the result as they continue their Premier League campaign, with Bassey expected to remain an important figure in their defensive setup.
