Manchester United Face Fierce Competition to Sign £15m Star in January

According to a report by TEAMtalk on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester United are still hopeful of signing Leicester City midfielder Louis Page after coming close to reaching an agreement for the youngster during the summer transfer window.

However, United are now concerned that they could lose the race for the 18-year-old, as several major European clubs have shown interest in him following his impressive performances and rapid development.

The Red Devils want to return to the negotiating table and complete a deal for Page, but the competition has increased significantly since their previous attempt. His performances this season have attracted the attention of several top clubs across Europe.

Leicester City are reportedly willing to consider offers for the midfielder in January, but they have two important conditions for any potential deal. The Championship side want Page to remain at the King Power Stadium on loan until the end of the current season.

The Foxes are also demanding a transfer package of around £15 million. However, they are open to receiving much of the money through future payments, with the initial fee expected to be less than one-third of the total amount.

Page still has a contract with Leicester that runs until 2029, putting the club in a strong position to decide his future. However, the growing interest from other teams could make it difficult for Manchester United to complete the signing.

Manchester City have also entered the race, while Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping track of the teenager's progress. Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford have reportedly contacted Leicester to find out about his availability.

There is also interest from outside England, with Borussia Dortmund continuing to monitor the midfielder after previously considering him as a possible transfer target. The German club are well known for giving young players opportunities to develop.

TEAMtalk further reports that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been following Page's progress. Their interest adds to United's problems, as some of Europe's biggest clubs are now competing for the young English midfielder.

For Manchester United, the situation could lead to another disappointing transfer outcome after they came close to signing Page last summer. The increased competition has made their chances of securing his services more difficult.

Although Leicester's willingness to negotiate is encouraging, their £15 million valuation and demand to keep the player on loan until the end of the season could complicate the deal. United may need to act quickly if they want to beat their rivals to his signature in January.
