Premier League Table After Tottenham Won 2-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday October 31, 2026, Tottenham secured an impressive 2-0 Premier League victory against Crystal Palace, controlling proceedings for extended periods and taking advantage of their numerical superiority following Jean-Philippe Mateta’s first-half dismissal.

Crystal Palace started brightly, with Daichi Kamada testing Antonin Kinsky in the ninth minute. However, the Tottenham goalkeeper reacted brilliantly, producing an excellent reflex save to prevent the visitors from taking an early lead.

The contest changed dramatically when Mateta initially received a yellow card for a sliding challenge. Following a VAR review, referee Michael Oliver upgraded his punishment to a straight red card.

Tottenham capitalised on their numerical advantage in the 25th minute when Mohammed Kudus delivered a dangerous corner. Archie Gray rose highest inside the penalty area, directing his header beyond Dean Henderson.

Despite their advantage, Tottenham struggled to extend their lead before halftime. Crystal Palace defended stubbornly, while Henderson produced several important interventions to prevent the visitors from conceding another goal.

Tottenham increased their attacking pressure after the restart, creating opportunities through Mathys Tel, Dominic Solanke and Omar Marmoush. However, Henderson remained impressive, while a defender cleared Tel’s close-range attempt off the goal line.

Andrew Robertson also threatened to score, but Henderson produced another excellent save before Tottenham eventually doubled their advantage through van Hecke in the 73rd minute.

The defender connected brilliantly with a header, directing the ball into the bottom-right corner and strengthening Tottenham’s control. Palace struggled to respond as the visitors continued creating dangerous opportunities.

Kudus subsequently saw another effort disallowed for offside, while Henderson brilliantly denied Dejan Kulusevski. Pedro Porro also fired narrowly wide as Tottenham comfortably secured an important Premier League victory.
