According to a report by Flashscore on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Nigeria's Flamingos have booked their place in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after defeating Brazil 3-1 in their semi-final encounter.
The Nigerian youngsters delivered an impressive performance at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Morocco to overcome their South American opponents and move within one victory of claiming their first-ever title at the competition.
Both teams struggled to find the breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes, with the first half ending goalless despite several attacking opportunities.
Nigeria showed considerable attacking ambition, with Queen Joseph, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Oluebube Umejiaku, Mary Akpan Dunstan, Kanyinsola Yusuf and Favour Nkwocha all attempting to trouble the Brazilian defence and goalkeeper.
However, the Flamingos could not convert their opportunities before the interval, while Brazil also created chances of their own without finding the back of the net.
The contest eventually opened up in the second half when Queen Joseph broke the deadlock in the 56th minute to give Nigeria a 1-0 advantage.
Her goal provided the breakthrough the Flamingos had been searching for, putting additional pressure on Brazil as they attempted to find a response.
Nigeria continued to push forward and doubled their advantage in the 71st minute through Awawu Bashiru, who found the net to put the West Africans in a commanding position.
Bashiru was not finished, as the Nigerian forward returned to the scoresheet in the 80th minute to complete her brace and make it 3-0.
Brazil managed to pull a goal back through Greise Kelly in the 89th minute, but the late response could not prevent the South American side from suffering a 3-1 defeat.
The result represents a major milestone for Nigeria, who have reached the final of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup for the first time in their history.
The Flamingos will now turn their attention to Saturday's final against Japan, who secured their place in the decisive encounter after progressing from their semi-final against DPR Korea.
Nigeria will have an opportunity to crown an outstanding campaign by winning their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup title.
