According to a report by Barca Universal on Saturday October 31, 2026, Barcelona's dressing room has urged calm following the club's consecutive defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, insisting that the disappointing results should not define their season.
According to The Athletic, as reported by SPORT, players and staff at the Catalan club remain confident in the team's progress under manager Hansi Flick despite the recent setbacks.
Barcelona suffered a 4-2 defeat against PSG in the Champions League before losing 2-1 to Real Madrid in El Clasico. The results raised concerns about the team's defensive weaknesses and physical condition after an impressive start to the campaign.
The Blaugrana had won their first 11 matches in all competitions before suffering the back-to-back losses, establishing themselves as one of Europe's most dangerous attacking sides.
However, a source from inside the Barcelona dressing room believes the two defeats should be put into perspective rather than allowed to overshadow the team's achievements.
“We weren’t the best team in history before, and now we’re not a disaster,” the source told The Athletic.
The same source stressed that football seasons are long and teams are bound to experience difficult periods along the way.
“These moments happen throughout a football season. It’s a very long season and, as the coach said, the important thing is to be in good shape in April and May,” the source added.
The comments underline the confidence that remains within the Barcelona squad in Flick's methods and the direction of his project.
The German manager reportedly continues to enjoy the backing of the players and the club's board, with the focus now on responding positively on the pitch rather than dwelling on the recent defeats.
Nevertheless, Barcelona recognise that the losses exposed weaknesses that must be addressed if they are to remain competitive and achieve their targets this season.
The Catalan giants will now look to regain their momentum and demonstrate that the setbacks against PSG and Real Madrid were only temporary obstacles in their campaign.
