According to a report by TeamTalk on Saturday October 24, 2026, Eberechi Eze has reportedly been reduced to squad-player status at Arsenal, but the England international remains determined to stay despite concerns about his performances and limited opportunities under Mikel Arteta.
Eze joined the Gunners after Arsenal beat Tottenham to his signature, making an immediate impact with an early hat-trick against their north London rivals. However, his influence has since declined.
Arsenal sources previously told TEAMtalk insider Graeme Bailey that Martin Odegaard’s impressive return to form has left Eze with virtually no opportunity to establish himself in attacking midfield.
The position was reportedly the role Arsenal intended for Eze when signing him, but Odegaard’s performances have complicated his chances of becoming a regular starter for the Gunners.
The 28-year-old could also feature on the left wing, although Arsenal reportedly consider Christos Tzolis a stronger option in that position, further limiting Eze’s opportunities under Arteta.
Arsenal’s attempts to recruit high-profile left-wingers, including Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior, during the summer also suggested that Eze was not viewed as their preferred solution on that flank.
Despite his reduced involvement, journalist Pete O’Rourke reports that Eze is not considering leaving Arsenal and remains committed to proving himself at the Emirates Stadium.
According to Football Insider, Eze is happy at the club and wants to remain despite continuing concerns about his performances. His determination could help him fight for greater involvement.
The England playmaker started only one of Arsenal’s opening seven Premier League matches this season and was substituted at half-time during that appearance against Nottingham Forest.
However, Eze has shown encouraging signs in European competition, offering Arteta reasons to reconsider his position within the attacking setup as the campaign progresses.
He scored against Bayern Munich in midweek after replacing the injured Bukayo Saka during the first half, delivering an important contribution against the German champions.
O’Rourke reported that Eze believes he has much more to offer Arsenal and is not worried about his current playing time, with his performance against Bayern strengthening his argument for more minutes.
Saka is expected to miss approximately six weeks with a quadriceps injury. Although Noni Madueke is likely to replace him on the right wing, Eze could benefit from Arteta’s rotation of Arsenal’s depleted attacking options.
