According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday October 24, 2026, Katsina United staged a dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Plateau United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 10 encounter at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts looked set for defeat after falling two goals behind, but two late strikes ensured they rescued a point in front of their home supporters.

Plateau United took the lead in the 30th minute through an own goal by Umar Rabiu, giving the visitors an advantage as the contest progressed.

Katsina United attempted to respond, but Plateau United remained in a strong position and moved closer to securing all three points when Jibril Ibrahim doubled their lead in the 82nd minute.

With a two-goal advantage and little time remaining, the visitors appeared to have done enough to claim victory.

However, Katsina United refused to surrender and began their fightback in the closing stages of the encounter.

Yusha'u Armiya'u gave the hosts renewed hope by reducing the deficit with six minutes remaining on the clock.

The goal shifted the momentum and set up a tense finish as Katsina United pushed forward in search of an equaliser.

Their persistence eventually paid off deep into stoppage time when Rabiu found the net to make it 2-2, redeeming himself after his earlier own goal.

The late equaliser sparked a remarkable turnaround for Katsina United, who had looked destined to leave the encounter empty-handed before their late rally.

For Plateau United, the result will be a disappointing one after surrendering a two-goal lead in the closing stages. The visitors had been on course for an important away victory but were forced to settle for a point following Katsina United's determined response.

Katsina United, meanwhile, will take encouragement from their resilience after fighting back from a difficult position to avoid defeat on home soil.

The 2-2 draw ensured both sides shared the points in an entertaining Matchday 10 encounter, with Rabiu emerging as the central figure after scoring at both ends of the pitch.
