According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham in a disappointing Premier League London derby at Stamford Bridge. The match remained goalless at half-time before two late goals secured victory for the visitors.
Both teams began the game cautiously, but Tottenham gradually took control of possession and created several dangerous chances. Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel and Omar Marmoush all threatened Chelsea's defence as Tottenham looked to break the deadlock.
Chelsea also had opportunities through Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Jordan Henderson, although they struggled to produce the required finishing touch. Pedro Neto came close as well, but Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky made crucial saves to keep the score level.
Tottenham maintained their pressure after the restart, while Chelsea found it difficult to turn their attacking opportunities into goals. James Maddison was forced off with an injury and was replaced by Conor Gallagher, giving Tottenham a different option in midfield.
Chelsea brought on Estêvão in an attempt to strengthen their attack, and the Brazilian winger came close to scoring after receiving a pass from Jordan Henderson inside the box. However, his effort went narrowly wide.
Tottenham finally took the lead in the 77th minute after an unfortunate own goal involving Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders gave the visitors the advantage with the match entering its final stages.
Chelsea's situation became even worse three minutes later when Cole Palmer was shown a second yellow card and sent off in the 80th minute. The hosts were reduced to ten men as Tottenham continued to push forward.
Mathys Tel then produced a stunning individual effort in the 87th minute. After getting past several Chelsea defenders, he unleashed a long-range shot into the bottom-left corner to make it 2-0 and put Tottenham firmly in control.
Chelsea tried to find a way back into the game during the closing stages, but Tottenham remained organised defensively. Despite seven minutes of added time, the hosts could not find a goal, allowing Tottenham to leave Stamford Bridge with a valuable away victory.
