According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Manchester City remain at the top of the Premier League table following the latest round of matches, with Arsenal level on points in second place.

Eight matches were played on Saturday, producing important changes in the standings at both ends of the table. Manchester City suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion but maintained their position at the summit with 21 points from nine matches.

Arsenal also have 21 points but have played one game fewer than City. The Gunners occupy second place with a goal difference of plus eight, compared with City's plus 10.

Brighton strengthened their position in third place after their impressive 1-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium. The Seagulls have collected 19 points from nine matches and boast a goal difference of plus 17.

Chelsea moved into fourth place with 16 points after recording a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool remain fifth with 15 points, although they have played only eight matches.

Brentford occupy sixth place with 14 points after defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0. Bournemouth climbed to seventh following their 2-0 home win against Leeds United, while Tottenham Hotspur moved into eighth place after beating Crystal Palace by the same scoreline.

Aston Villa sit ninth with 12 points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham. Hull City are 10th with 11 points, ahead of Leeds United, Newcastle United and Ipswich Town, who occupy 11th, 12th and 13th positions respectively. Everton are 14th with 10 points, while Fulham and Coventry City occupy 15th and 16th places with nine points each.

Manchester United remain in 17th position after their defeat at Chelsea. Michael Carrick's side have collected just seven points from nine matches and are level on points with Crystal Palace, who occupy 18th place. Nottingham Forest are 19th with six points, while Sunderland remain bottom of the table with five points.

The weekend's action continues on Sunday, November 1, when Liverpool host Arsenal in a significant encounter that could affect the battle for the top position. Newcastle United will then welcome Everton on Monday, November 2, to complete the round.
