Bournemouth-Milan, CM player ratings: Maignan’s moment of madness earns him a 4. De Winter struggles, Loftus-Cheek is a ghost

Here are the player ratings from Bournemouth v AC Milan at the Vitality Stadium in the third round of Europa League fixtures.

Milan endured a night to forget in Bournemouth, in south London. De Winter's early mistakes cost them a penalty and handed the home side control. Rating: 5. Then Maignan struck Adams, earning a sending-off and conceding another penalty. Rating: 4. AC Milan lose their second match in three Europa League games, going down 3-0.

Bournemouth player ratings

Di Gregorio 6: The driving rain is the only thing that gets his gloves dirty. Milan never have a shot on target.

Hill 7: A night for the 2002-born defender to treasure. He delivers a superb performance against Milan, crossing well and blocking Hutchinson's path when needed.

Diakité 6.5: Sticks to Cisse and gives him nothing.

Silva 6.5: With authority and excellent tactical awareness, he directs the defence. Milan tracked the Portuguese defender for a long time, and it's easy to see why.

Truffert 7: An express train down the left flank, he forces Moreira onto the defensive and makes the difference for the Cherries.

Christie 7: He owns the midfield, breaking up play and linking it at a relentless tempo. An intense, assured display.

Adams 6.5: Positioned in front of the defence, he shields it to excellent effect. He is at the centre of the controversial penalty incident after Maignan's reckless reaction. (Cook from 62')

Tavernier 7: The heart of this Bournemouth side, he gives the Cherries' attacking bursts pace and substance. He never stops troubling Milan's sluggish defence. Ice-cool from the spot for the goal that makes it 2-0. (Rayan from 62')

Kluivert 7: His expertly taken penalty puts his side ahead. Runs in behind his marker cut through the Milan defence. (Toth 6 from 62': a problem with a flexor muscle cuts his game short. (Adli 7 from 78': his free-kick arcs beautifully into the net for the goal that makes it 3-0)

Gannon-Doak 6: A couple of promising moments, but long quiet spells between them.

Evanilson 6.5: The Brazilian works tirelessly for the team, holding the ball up and making runs into space in behind. He leaves the pitch utterly exhausted (Alvaro 6 from 65': roams across the entire attack)

Coach Rose 7: His players deliver a perfect performance and earn a historic, thoroughly deserved result.

AC Milan player ratings

Maignan 4: Furious with his team-mates for giving Bournemouth's forwards too much space, he takes a swipe at Adams. It earns him a red card and gives the opposition a penalty. Senseless from the AC Milan captain.

Tomori 5: Bournemouth's width gives him more than one headache. He struggles to read the forwards' constant movement and picks up a yellow card to stop a dangerous attack in open space. Overwhelmed. (from 67' Diawara)

De Winter 4.5: Early on, he gives Kluivert the ball in a dangerous area of the penalty box. Three minutes later, in the 10th minute, he sticks his arm out too far and gives the opposition a penalty. Struggling

Pavlovic 5.5: He fights until the end, but has little to show for it.

Estupinan 5: Not even the English weather revives the former Brighton full-back. He offers little in defence or going forward, and his yellow card convinces Amorim to leave him in the dressing room at half-time. (from 46' of the second half Bartesaghi 5.5: Slightly better than his team-mate, but still far from convincing)

Musah 5: A sleepy first half-hour sees him repeatedly give the ball to the opposition. He improves after the break, when the match has nothing left to offer Milan.

Jashari 5.5: He hits a few good switches of play, but offers little tempo and no protection in front of the defence. Ardon struggles to show he deserves a starting place.

Hutchinson 5.5: Among the most active players early on, he makes way for Torriani after Maignan's red card. (from 32' of the second half Torriani 5.5: He makes his Europa League debut and can do little about Adli's finish)

Loftus-Cheek 4.5: When the going gets tough, the Englishman hides. After a few different signs against Salzburg, he returns to a disappearing act that has become a sad constant of his time at AC Milan. (from 46' of the second half Rabiot 5.5: He holds his position better and tries to impart his mentality)

Moreira 5: On the right tonight, he seems to lose his superpowers. Completely ineffective, he concentrates on holding his position, wary of an inspired Truffert. (from 75' Comotto, no rating: He makes his debut for Milan)

Cisse 5: Isolated up front, he doesn't get a playable ball.

Manager Amorim 5: He fields an unambitious starting XI and makes no impact as Milan turn in a poor performance, suffer a dreadful defeat and lose Maignan to a red card.
