Tsakani’s Verbal Warning Masters clinch a 1-0 win against the City Royals Masters in the Tsamaya Masters Social League on October 18 at Ntokozweni Grounds.

The goal by Themba Tsotetsi in the second half was able to give Verbal three points, and the team currently sits on number five in the log.

Speaking to African Reporter, Verbal’s coach Mandla ‘Splash’ Molefe said he was not happy with the scoreline, as his team failed to utilise opportunities to score more.

He also said the team aimed to win the game but wanted more goals from the players.

“In the second half, I was able to make some changes with the players which allowed them to get a goal and kept the defence strong as our opponent did not score,” explained Molefe.

He credited the players with executing the game plan and added that they listened and stayed focused.

For the next game, Molefe said the team will take it one step at a time against Redemption Masters.

“Our only goal now as a team is to finish at the end of the season in the top three and only then would we try our best as a team but in all games we play, we aim to win,” he said.

City Royal’s captain Lucky Mndawe told the publication that it was a tough game for the team. He believes the team tried their best but failed to convert their chances.

“Verbal only had two chances, one in the first half and another in the second half, and they were able to score. We had a few chances but could not convert them. Unfortunately, things did not go our way,” said Mndawe.

Despite the loss, Mndawe said the team played well but will have to regroup and prepare for the next game.

City Royal currently sits fourth on the log, and the captain noted that the three points would have made a difference, or maybe changed their position.

He added that little will change for the next game against RDP Masters, as they are a solid team.

“We will see how things go next week. If everyone comes back prepared and fit, we will continue where we left off,” said Mndawe.
