Shabana FC will look to turn their unbeaten start into a winning run when they host Kenya Police FC at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru in one of the standout fixtures of the FKF Premier League's fifth round.
The Glamour Boys have avoided defeat in their opening four matches, but three consecutive draws have slowed their progress after an encouraging start to the campaign.
Coach Ahmed Fathi Abdalla Ibrahim will want his players to convert their promising performances into victories as the competition gathers pace.
Shabana began the season with a 1-0 win over Posta Rangers, who had a player sent off during the encounter.
However, they have since been unable to collect maximum points in their subsequent three outings.
Although their unbeaten record remains intact, another draw would extend their wait for a second league victory.
Their opponents arrive with renewed confidence following their first win of the season.
Kenya Police edged Ulinzi Stars 1-0 in their midweek meeting, a result that offered some relief after a difficult opening to the campaign.
The victory also provided a positive beginning for new head coach Raphael Pilato, who was appointed to replace Nicholas Muyoti.
The Frenchman will now attempt to build on that result and guide the Law Enforcers towards consecutive league victories.
Assistant coach Anthony Akhulia acknowledged the expectations surrounding the club after the win over Ulinzi, making it clear that the team intends to maintain its improved performance.
“At Police, they don't take a loss easily, so it is up to me to make sure I am not in the frying pan,” Akhulia said, while emphasising the importance of preparing for the Shabana encounter.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4:15pm at Afraha Stadium.
