Gor Mahia recorded their lowest home gate collection of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League season so far after generating KSh 794,100 from ticket sales during Sunday's 2-1 defeat to KCB at Embu Stadium.
The figure marked a notable decline for the record league champions, who had collected more than KSh 1.5 million in each of their previous two home fixtures against Murang'a Seal and Bandari FC.
The latest revenue was KSh 838,000 lower than the KSh 1,632,100 collected during their previous home match against Bandari.
The drop came at a difficult moment for the club, whose supporters had witnessed an encouraging start to the campaign before Sunday's setback.
Gor Mahia treasurer Gerphas Okuku confirmed the latest figures in a statement issued after the match, while expressing gratitude to fans who turned up to support the team.
"To all fans who offered support in our match against KCB, we truly thank you. We managed to collect a total of Ksh 794,100 from ticket sales. Your support will always be appreciated," the statement read.
The lower collection coincided with Gor Mahia's first league defeat of the season, ending a run of four consecutive victories.
Charles Akonnor's men had entered the meeting hoping to maintain their perfect record and extend their lead at the top of the standings.
Instead, KCB produced a determined performance to secure a 2-1 victory and hand the defending champions their first setback of the campaign.
The result prevented Gor from opening a potentially commanding gap over their closest challengers.
They remain top of the table with 12 points, but KCB have moved to within two points after their victory.
Gor Mahia will now look to respond on the pitch when they face Nairobi United in their next league assignment.
