Manchester United director of global recruitment Christopher Vivell has officially reached a definitive decision regarding the immediate future of head coach Michael Carrick, concluding that a structural change in the Old Trafford dugout is necessary to rescue the club's season.

Following comprehensive internal evaluations conducted alongside technical director Jason Wilcox and the INEOS sports committee, Vivell’s extensive data-driven analysis highlighted persistent tactical regressions and inconsistent performance metrics, accelerating the board's decision to bring Carrick's tenure to an end.

With the decision to part ways with Carrick effectively finalized behind closed doors, Manchester United have already taken proactive steps by establishing direct contact with two primary managerial candidates.

Recruitment figures at Carrington have held exploratory discussions to gauge availability, project alignment, and contract expectations, ensuring that a seamless transition can take place without leaving an extended leadership vacuum during a demanding stretch of domestic fixtures.

While Jason Wilcox has strongly advocated for former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe due to his extensive Premier League experience and availability as a free agent, Vivell has simultaneously explored elite continental profiles to ensure all bases are thoroughly covered.

German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann and former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri remain prominent names within recruitment circles, offering distinct tactical mentalities that align with the long-term roster construction goals envisioned by the INEOS board.

As Michael Carrick prepares to lead the team through his final scheduled commitments, the executive hierarchy at Old Trafford stands ready to execute the transition plan.

With formal soundings already underway and Christopher Vivell leading the search strategy, Manchester United supporters can expect swift developments as the club prepares to unveil its new era.
