Arsenal have strengthened their grip on the English Premier League title race after recording a crucial 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The Gunners secured all three points through a first-half goal from German forward Kai Havertz, giving manager Mikel Arteta another important victory against a major title rival.
Havertz broke the deadlock in the 16th minute after Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker made a costly error. Declan Rice capitalised on the situation before delivering a dangerous ball into the box, which Havertz converted to give the visitors the lead.
Liverpool responded by pushing forward in search of an equaliser but struggled to break through Arsenal's organised defence.
Florian Wirtz came close to restoring parity when his free-kick rattled the crossbar, leaving the home supporters frustrated.
Despite mounting pressure from Liverpool, Arsenal remained disciplined at the back and successfully protected their advantage until the final whistle.
The result takes Arsenal to 24 points from nine matches, having recorded eight wins and one defeat this season.
They now enjoy a three-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City, who suffered a surprising 1-0 home defeat against Brighton on Saturday.
Brighton occupy third position with 19 points, while Chelsea are fourth on 16 points following their 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
Liverpool remain fifth with 15 points, nine behind Arsenal, while Brentford complete the top six with 14 points. Bournemouth and Tottenham follow with 12 points apiece.
The victory also ended Arsenal's long wait for a Premier League away win at Anfield, having last achieved the feat in September 2012.
Arteta's men will now focus on maintaining their impressive momentum as they pursue their first league title in more than two decades.
