A popular English Premier League influencer has backed Tanzania to stage a high profile international friendly between Manchester United and Arsenal to officially inaugurate the Samia Suluhu Hassan Stadium in Arusha.
The influencer Haneefah, under the Instagram username lfc_girl7, has asked the Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu to see the deal done, as the facility is among the venues earmarked to stage the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations in the East African country.
Her backing comes as Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan is reportedly holding discussions aimed at securing the presence of the two English Premier League powerhouses for a high-profile exhibition match in the country.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, November 2, 2026, the influencer said; “Tanzania is ready to stand proudly on the world’s stage, and if this match really happens, I will definitely be there. Tanzania, you already gave me memories I will never forget. Imagine making another one at the opening of this stadium. President Samia, please, I trust and believe you,” she said.
The proposed showdown is expected to take place at the newly built Samia Suluhu Hassan Stadium in Arusha, with the fixture being considered as part of the celebrations surrounding the inauguration of the modern sporting facility.
The possibility of hosting two of England’s most followed clubs has sparked considerable interest among football fans across the region, where both teams command a massive following.
Arsenal and Manchester United enjoy widespread support in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, making the proposed fixture a potentially huge attraction for thousands of football lovers.
Should the plans succeed, Tanzania could welcome supporters from across East Africa, turning the occasion into one of the region’s biggest football spectacles.
The Arusha-based stadium is expected to offer a fitting setting for the anticipated clash, having been constructed with modern infrastructure intended to accommodate international sporting events.
Reports of the proposed negotiations have meanwhile generated considerable debate on social media, with supporters eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing their favourite Premier League stars in action on Tanzanian soil.
While some fans are already looking forward to the prospect of the two English giants meeting in Arusha, others have started predicting which side would claim bragging rights.
Nevertheless, neither the Tanzanian government nor Arsenal and Manchester United have officially confirmed the proposed fixture.
A successful agreement would mark a major moment for Tanzania’s sporting ambitions, while potentially strengthening the country’s position as a destination for international sporting events and tourism.
This comes as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam have officially confirmed to inaugurate the new Raila Odinga International Stadium in Nairobi Kenya on January 5, 2027.
