Sport influencer and die-hard Manchester United fan Kevin Masagara has jokingly suggested that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should take the place of controversial cult leader Paul Mackenzie in prison, blaming the coach for the frustration Arsenal have caused Premier League rivals this season.
In a video posted on social media on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Masagara questioned why Mackenzie should be the one serving a lengthy prison sentence when Arteta’s Arsenal have been giving other teams and their supporters a difficult time in the English Premier League.
He argued that Arsenal’s habit of holding onto narrow leads, particularly 1-0 victories, had made the competition difficult for rival supporters. Masagara also joked about the club’s goalkeeper David Raya winning the Golden Glove award while Arsenal continued chasing the Premier League title.
“Sasa, badala ya Mackenzie kuwekwa 200 years si waweke Artet basi? Waweke Arteta huko because sasa Premier League tunateseka. Hakuna Amani kila siku wanataka kuwin. Wakifunga 1-0, hamfungi tena. Eti mpira inaisha hapo. 1-0 na ni hivyo. 3 points,” Masagara said.
The Manchester United supporter continued his complaints by questioning Arsenal’s success under Arteta, suggesting that the coach should face the same 200-year sentence instead of Mackenzie.
He also mentioned Raya’s chances of winning the Golden Glove award and joked that Arsenal could end up taking the Premier League title, adding to the frustration he associated with the club’s performances.
“Ah hapana, yaani Raya achukue Golden Glove. Tena wachukue Premier League? Arteta. Si Arteta ndio ashikwe? Badala ya Mackenzie. Substitute Mackenzie na Arteta. Arteta ndio aende ndani,” Masagara said.
Masagara further questioned how one team could cause so much frustration when the Premier League season involved 20 teams. He maintained that the season was supposed to be favourable for his side before Arsenal became a source of concern.
“Hatuezi umi akwa Premier League juu ya mtu mmoja. Premier league tuko na games 20. Team moja ndio inatupea stress? Hii season ilifaa ikue yetu. Maswara sijui zilitoka wapi,” Masagera said.
Masagara’s remarks came after the High Court sentenced Mackenzie to 200 years in prison over the murder of his followers.
Justice Diana Kavedza delivered the sentence on Friday, November 6, 2026, ordering Mackenzie to serve 100 years for each of 183 counts of murder by starvation.
“The sentences in sub-paragraphs a and b shall run consecutively, making an aggregate sentence of 200 years’ imprisonment for convict Mackenzie,” Judge Kavedza ruled.
