Lamine Yamal has broken Mbappé's record for the most goals by a teenager in Champions League history

According to a report by ESPN on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has surpassed Kylian Mbappe's record for the most goals scored by a teenager in UEFA Champions League history after taking his tally to 14 goals in the competition.

The Spanish international has continued to strengthen his reputation as one of football's most exciting young talents, adding another major achievement to his growing collection of records.

Yamal, who progressed through Barcelona's youth academy, has enjoyed a remarkable rise since making his senior debut. Despite his age, he has established himself as an important part of the club's attack, regularly contributing goals, assists and impressive performances against top European opponents.

His latest achievement puts him ahead of Mbappe, who previously held the record with 13 Champions League goals scored before turning 20.

The milestone further underlines the Barcelona youngster's rapid development and places him among the most prolific teenagers to have played in Europe's leading club competition.

Yamal set the new record on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, during Barcelona's Champions League meeting with Aston Villa at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The 19-year-old needed only seven minutes to find the net after taking advantage of an error in Aston Villa's build-up play. His early strike gave Barcelona the lead and increased his Champions League goal tally to 14.

According to football statistics platform MisterChip, Yamal achieved the milestone at the age of 19 years and 113 days, becoming the youngest player to score 14 goals in the competition before turning 20.

Mbappe previously occupied the top position with 13 goals, having reached that figure during his spells at Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland ranks third with 10 Champions League goals scored as a teenager.

Yamal's record is even more remarkable considering that he made his Barcelona Champions League debut in September 2023, aged just 16, during a 5-0 victory over Royal Antwerp.

However, he had to wait until September 2024 to score his first goal in the competition, finding the net against Monaco in a 2-1 defeat.

Since then, the Barcelona forward has continued to improve his scoring record, producing important performances against several of Europe's biggest clubs.
