According to a report by Football London on Friday, October 23, 2026, Opta’s supercomputer has tipped Chelsea to beat Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s London derby at Stamford Bridge, leaving Roberto De Zerbi’s side facing a difficult task as they attempt to end their poor record at the venue.
Chelsea have been assigned a 53.6 per cent chance of winning the encounter, while the probability of a draw stands at 23.8 per cent. Tottenham, meanwhile, have a 22.6 per cent chance of claiming all three points, according to Opta’s latest Premier League predictions.
Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea head into the match in encouraging form after securing consecutive league victories. The Blues thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 before defeating Everton 2-0, leaving them fourth in the table with 13 points from seven matches.
Tottenham have endured a more difficult start and currently sit 16th with six points. Their first Premier League victory of the campaign came on Monday, when they beat Coventry City 3-1 to end their winless run.
However, Spurs’ record at Stamford Bridge presents a major obstacle. They have managed just one league victory in their last 36 visits to Chelsea, with their most recent success coming in April 2018.
During that encounter, Christian Eriksen brought Tottenham level before Dele Alli scored twice to secure a 3-1 win for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
Since then, Tottenham have recorded two draws and suffered six defeats in eight Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have also won their last six league meetings against their London rivals.
Despite Chelsea’s dominance in the fixture, their defensive performances could provide Tottenham with an opportunity. The Blues have scored 17 goals in seven league matches but have conceded 13, with the victory over Everton delivering their first clean sheet of the season.
Tottenham, by comparison, have scored six league goals, including three against Coventry. De Zerbi’s team will need to improve their attacking consistency if they are to challenge Chelsea and end their long wait for a league victory at Stamford Bridge.
De Zerbi has, however, previously enjoyed success at the ground, having guided Brighton to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in April 2023.
