According to a report by Barca Universal on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Barcelona players Raphinha and Rodri have taken steps to improve team unity following the club’s consecutive defeats to Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid.
The two players reportedly helped organise a team barbecue at Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground on Wednesday. Head coach Hansi Flick, his coaching staff and the first team squad attended the 90 minute gathering.
The meeting came after a difficult week for Barcelona, who lost 4-2 to PSG before suffering another defeat against Real Madrid. The results have raised concerns within the club and increased the need for the players to regain their confidence ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
Raphinha, Barcelona’s first captain, has already urged his teammates to remain calm and learn from their defeat in Paris. The Brazilian winger is known for his leadership and willingness to encourage the squad during difficult periods.
Rodri has also become an important figure since joining Barcelona in the summer. Although he is not among the club’s five official captains, he has reportedly taken part in tactical discussions and worked closely with Flick to help communicate the manager’s ideas on the pitch.
The pair bring different leadership qualities to the team. Raphinha often leads through his actions and energy during matches, while Rodri is recognised for his composure, experience and ability to guide teammates under pressure.
Their decision to organise the gathering reflects efforts to strengthen relationships within the dressing room and help the players move beyond their recent disappointments.
Barcelona will hope the initiative improves team spirit as they prepare for matches against Alaves and Aston Villa before travelling to face Atletico Madrid.
Flick’s side will need to respond positively to their recent defeats, and stronger unity could help them regain their form. With important fixtures approaching, the coaching staff will be looking for improved performances and greater consistency from the squad.
