Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Arnyas Tanko has expressed disappointment after his side settled for a pulsating 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium in match-week 9 of the Ghana Premier League.
Sufian Usman gave the Mauves and Yellows the lead in the 43rd minute before Kotoko captain Musah Hamzata equalised after the break.
“We had chances especially in first 20 and should have scored two or more but we couldn’t make it count. It’s a painful draw,” Tanko said.
The experienced coach added that his team did not want to sit back after taking the lead but had to adjust their approach at certain stages of the game.
“We were leading and didn’t want to stay back, but at certain point we had to. Our first was good. Playing Kotoko at home is always a big game so I think it isn’t bad,” he added.
Medeama SC remain top of the league table despite dropping points and will next host Swedru All Blacks at the TnA Stadium.
