Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC played out a 1-1 draw in their Ghana Premier League Matchday Nine encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The two sides exchanged powerful headers in an entertaining contest, with Usman Safianu giving Medeama the lead before Kotoko captain Musah Hamzarat secured a second-half equaliser.
Medeama broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute when Safianu rose to head home, rewarding the visitors for their first-half performance and sending them into the interval with a 1-0 advantage.

The league leaders looked to carry that momentum into the second half, but Kotoko returned with greater urgency as they searched for a response in front of their home supporters.
Their persistence paid off in the 55th minute when Hamzarat rose highest to connect with a well-worked set-piece routine, directing a powerful header into the net to restore parity.
The equaliser lifted the atmosphere at Baba Yara as the Porcupine Warriors fought to turn the contest around, while Medeama sought to regain their advantage.
Neither side could find another breakthrough, however, as the match ended with the points shared.
The result denied Medeama a victory on the road, while Kotoko had to settle for a point despite recovering from a first-half deficit.
Both teams will now turn their attention to their next league assignments as the Ghana Premier League campaign continues.
