Karela United will be looking to revive their Ghana Premier League campaign when they host Vision FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Friday.
The Pride of the North head into the encounter under pressure after a frustrating start to the season. They have managed just three wins and one draw from nine matches, suffering five defeats to collect 10 points and sit 15th on the league table.
Their goalless draw against Young Apostles last weekend extended their search for a victory, but home form offers some encouragement. All three of Karela's league wins this season have come in Tamale, where they have won three and lost once in four matches.
They will also take confidence from their record against Vision FC at home, having won one and drawn the other of their two previous meetings in Tamale.
Vision FC, meanwhile, arrive in the North hoping to build on their promising away performances. They were held to a goalless draw by Port City FC last weekend after recording an impressive victory on the road in their previous outing.
The Tema-based side have 10 points from nine matches and occupy 13th position, with three wins, one draw and five defeats. They have scored 11 goals and conceded the same number.
Their away record makes them a difficult opponent to dismiss. Vision have won once and drawn once in four away matches, while scoring in all four fixtures. That attacking consistency could pose problems for a Karela defence that has conceded 11 goals this season.
The head-to-head record also favours the visitors. Vision have won two of the four meetings between the sides since December 2024, compared to Karela's one victory, with the other match ending in a draw.
Vision also won the most recent encounter 3-0 on May 10, 2026.
With both teams level on 10 points, Friday's meeting presents an opportunity to gain ground in the standings. Karela will look to make home advantage count, while Vision will hope their attacking threat can secure another positive result on the road.
