Achraf Hakimi and Andre Onana head the African players selected in Europe’s team of the weekend after outstanding performances between 30 October and 1 November 2026. The XI is based on ratings supplied by partner Sportmonks.
Hakimi was at the centre of Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-1 victory over Le Havre, scoring a hat-trick and providing two assists. The Morocco international contributed to all five of his side’s goals, a total of five attacking actions described as a record albeit a disputed one for a defender.
Onana also produced a notable display for Trabzonspor in their 2-0 win against Gaziantep. The Cameroon goalkeeper, currently excluded from the national team, made six saves and recovered eight balls. It was his sixth clean sheet in 12 matches this season.
His Trabzonspor team-mate Chidozie Nwaiwu is included in defence after winning possession nine times and making five clearances. The Turkish club have a third representative in the XI in Cape Verde international Sidny Lopes Cabral, who also played an active part in a victory for the side currently third in the Super Lig.
Alongside Hakimi, Ligue 1 contributes three more players, all of whom made decisive contributions in high-scoring matches.
Elye Wahi scored three times and supplied an assist as OGC Nice defeated Rennes 5-2. The Franco-Malian Lassine Sinayoko was also influential, scoring twice in the first half for Paris FC against Monaco before being involved in the move that produced a third goal in a 3-1 win.
Sinayoko’s performance underlined his strong run of form. He is Ligue 1’s leading scorer with eight goals.
The final Ligue 1 selection is Morocco’s Gessime Yassine, who scored twice and created another goal in Strasbourg’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Auxerre.
Ibrahim Maza was among those to miss selection despite another impressive performance for Bayer Leverkusen against Stuttgart. The Algeria international scored and was praised by his opponent Deniz Undav, but Leverkusen lost 4-2.
Maza’s omission is likely to prompt discussion, although his rating of 7,67 left him behind the three midfielders chosen. Morocco’s Bilal El Khannouss, who also scored in the match and received a rating of 7.69, was likewise not included.
The midfield features Senegal’s Mouhamed Diop, who scored and created two key passes for Troyes in their 2-0 victory over Le Mans. Algeria’s Ramiz Zerrouki also found the net, converting a penalty, and supplied two key passes as Twente beat Excelsior 9-0 away from home.
Nigeria’s Tunde Akinsola completes the midfield after scoring twice for Cercle Bruges in their 2-1 win over Antwerp.
The defence is completed by Cote d’Ivoire international Evan Ndicka. He scored in AS Roma’s 5-2 victory against Udinese and completed 96% of his passes.
