Ghanaian Players Abroad: Nuamah, Ibrahim and Opoku score as Kudus provides assist

It was another productive weekend for Ghanaian players abroad, with Ernest Nuamah, Rahim Ibrahim, Joseph Opoku, Daniel Afriyie and David Acquah finding the net, while Mohammed Kudus provided an assist for Tottenham.

Kudus stars as Tottenham beat Crystal Palace

Mohammed Kudus was named Player of the Match after helping Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Ghanaian provided the assist for Tottenham’s opening goal, delivering a corner that Archie Gray headed home.

Kudus caused problems for the Palace defence throughout the game, completing five dribbles, winning four fouls and creating three chances as Spurs secured their third consecutive victory.

Nuamah scores again in Lyon victory

Ernest Nuamah continued his impressive scoring form with a goal in Olympique Lyon’s 2-0 victory over Angers SCO in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The 22-year-old opened the scoring in the 38th minute at the Groupama Stadium, finishing a pass from Corentin Tolisso. The goal takes his league tally to four in seven appearances this season.

Rahim Ibrahim reaches five goals for Slovan Bratislava

Rahim Ibrahim was also on target as Slovan Bratislava beat FK Zeleziarne Podbrezova 2-1 in the Slovak Super Liga on Saturday.

The Ghanaian midfielder has now scored five goals in nine appearances across all competitions this season, surpassing his previous best return of four goals in a single campaign for the club.

Opoku scores and assists in Swansea win

Joseph Opoku delivered a goal and an assist as Swansea City thrashed Blackburn Rovers 4-0 in the English Championship on Saturday.

The forward capitalised on a defensive error by Tom Atcheson before beating goalkeeper Balazs Toth to get on the scoresheet.

His latest contribution takes him to five goal involvements in 12 appearances since joining Swansea from Zulte Waregem in the summer.

Afriyie and Acquah inspire Aarau comeback

Daniel Afriyie and David Acquah both scored as FC Aarau came from behind to beat Neuchâtel Xamax 3-1 in the Swiss Challenge League on Friday.

Acquah equalised in the 75th minute before Afriyie struck in the 92nd minute to complete the turnaround for Brunello Iacopetta’s side. Aarau added a third goal to seal the comeback victory away from home.

Jordan Ayew makes second Championship start

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew made his second Championship start for Sheffield United in their 1-0 defeat to Wrexham on Saturday.

The forward played 69 minutes and recorded six touches in the opposition penalty area, the most by any player in the match. He also managed one shot on target and completed his only attempted dribble.

Ayew will be looking to build on his latest appearance as he continues to settle into life at Sheffield United.
