Bromsgrove Sporting held to 2-2 draw by ten-man Stratford

Hayden Reeves gave Sporting an early advantage.

Second-half goals from Dan Lafferty and Kory Roberts ensured the visitors returned to Warwickshire with a point.

Stratford came close to opening the scoring after just two minutes when former Sporting loanee Adam Jasper struck the post from close range following a pass from Kobe Hall.

However, Sporting took the lead two minutes later when a corner was headed into the path of Reeves, who nodded home from close range.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage in the 13th minute.

Jamille Matt's effort from Brad Bood's cross was saved by Stratford goalkeeper Jake Weaver.

Matt later headed into the side netting.

Kieron Freeman saw two efforts cleared off the line towards the end of the first half.

Stratford were reduced to ten men in the 56th minute when Tionne Critchlow-Moyo received a straight red card for a challenge on Simeon Maye.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, the visitors equalised three minutes later when Lafferty struck from more than 20 yards.

Sporting responded, with Jake Jervis heading narrowly wide from a Jak Hickman cross in the 68th minute.

The hosts regained the lead in the 72nd minute after Billy Shaw was brought down inside the penalty area by Weaver.

Jervis stepped up and converted the resulting spot-kick, placing his effort into the bottom corner.

However, Stratford equalised just two minutes later when a corner caused problems in the Sporting penalty area and Roberts fired home.

Sporting enjoyed plenty of possession during the closing stages but were unable to find a winner against the ten men.

The result meant both sides had to settle for a point following an entertaining contest.

Simeon Maye was named the reporter's player of the match.

Billy Shaw received Sporting's player of the match award.

Attendance: 711.
