‘Nobody I Want To See More on the Bengals’ — Joe Burrow’s Ex-Teammate Urges Cincinnati To Trade for ‘Biggest Needle Mover’

Fit again, quarterback Joe Burrow has led the Cincinnati Bengals to a 4-2 start to the season amid expectations of a deep playoff run. Despite Burrow’s impressive start to the season, the Bengals are still on the fringes of the Super Bowl conversation and have been pinpointed as a team that requires reinforcements before the November 10 deadline to contend.

On Thursday, Burrow’s former LSU Tigers teammate Breiden Fehoko revealed the player who would turn the Bengals into genuine contenders.

In a post on X, Fehoko pinpointed Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor as the ideal player to turn the Bengals into a force, reinforcing his pick by texting Burrow about it.

“Every contender is gearing up to make a run. There’s nobody I want to see more on the Bengals than Jonathan Taylor. That would be the biggest needle mover this century. Peep what I just texted you, @JoeyB. GO GET JONATHAN TAYLOR,” Fehoko wrote.

The Colts are undergoing a massive fire sale, and on Tuesday, the franchise traded away defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (San Francisco 49ers) and guard Quenton Nelson (Seattle Seahawks).

While speaking to the media after the trades, Taylor revealed that he had not asked for a trade.

“I haven’t heard anything, and I can’t control that,” Taylor said. “Obviously, you guys know that I’m always proud to wear the horseshoe, proud to be here.”

“It was all speculation until stuff started happening,” Taylor said about Buckner and Nelson’s trades. “Those guys are the gold standard of the NFL. And obviously the business side of things, that’s where it sucks at. I wish some way, somehow, I could have done more, because I wanted to win for those guys. We wanted to get it done here with those guys.”

Last season, Taylor confirmed his status as one of the league’s premier running backs, registering 1,585 rushing yards and 18 scores on 323 carries, adding 378 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

He led the league in rushing attempts and touchdowns, earning his third Pro Bowl nod. Taylor agreed to a new two-year, $44 million contract extension with the Colts in August, making him one of the best-paid running backs in the league.

Taylor has amassed 587 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns on 140 carries for the Colts this season, earning a PFN Running Back Impact score of 81.4 (No. 10 in the NFL).

On the other hand, with Burrow under center, the Bengals have earned a PFN Offense Impact score of 81.8 (No. 6 in the NFL) this season. Cincinnati has amassed 487 rushing yards, the second-lowest in the league, on 134 attempts, averaging 3.6 yards per carry this season.

Adding Taylor would give Burrow another elite weapon alongside Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins while taking pressure off the passing game with a proven rushing threat. With Cincinnati’s defense already playing well, a more balanced offense could make the Bengals far more difficult to handle down the stretch.
