Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan has confirmed that Irish international lock Quinn Roux has been missing from his matchday squad because of an injury.
Roux, 35, has been a mainstay of Bath’s pack under van Graan, making 71 appearances for the club, but just one of those has come this season in an 80-minute display in the 40-34 win against Exeter Chiefs in Round Two of the Gallagher PREM.
But the 16-cap Irish international has not been seen since, with van Graan using young prospects like 22-year-old Will Jeanes and 20-year-old Enoch Opoku-Gyamfi in the engine room in recent weeks, to good effect.
Providing an update on Roux, van Graan said: “He will potentially feature in some way over the next few weeks [in the PREM Rugby Cup. He took a knock in training, and he will be back on the field soon.
“But I think Will Jeanes has done really well, and it is so good to see Enoch; I thought he has brought a lot of power. But you will see Quinn some time over the next month.”

Van Graan revealed Opoku-Gyamfi has gone through a physical transformation ahead of the 2026/27 season. He said: "It is a great story for him. I have got loads of trust in him. It has been a journey from how we found him a few years ago and how he has improved his body shape and improved his understanding of the game.
"He is a player who has played a Test match at a young age; he has been to two U20 World Championships with Italy; he can play lock; he plays eight. The future is bright for Enoch.
"He has lost more than 20kg, and he is a big man. He has totally changed his body, he has upped his speed, and he is going to be a phenomenal player not only for us but for Italy."
Bath travel to Exeter Chiefs on Saturday in Round Three of the 2026/27 PREM Rugby Cup, looking to get off the mark in the competition having already had a bye week before a development side lost 50-28 away at Sale Sharks
The situation looks less hopeful in the immediate term for hooker Kepu Tuipulotu, who injured his knee while training with England last weekend ahead of the Nations Championship.

Van Graan revealed the 21-year-old forward had an appointment with a surgeon on Tuesday to discuss the best course of action for his rehabilitation.
Speaking post-match on Saturday, van Graan said the club were awaiting more information from a scan on loosehead prop Scott Kirk’s injury toe.
He said: “It is a similar injury to Billy Sela; unfortunately, we have picked up a few injuries in certain positions, but hopefully over the next number of weeks we will get some players back and hopefully we will be able to give an update soon.”
Van Graan said previously Scott’s injury is not ‘a one or two week’ timeline, with Bath short on senior loosehead options with Jamie Bhatti sidelined until the New Year with a broken arm.
