Unlike their triumphant showing at Lambeau Field around the same time last year, the Carolina Panthers couldn't pull out a win against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.
Here's everything we know from the rough Week 8 loss . . .
Packers 27, Panthers 19
Quarterback Bryce Young faced constant pressure throughout the night, forcing the Panthers to shorten up their offensive approach. He averaged just 5.1 yards per attempt and recorded six sacks.
The offense couldn't take advantage of the edge in the turnover battle. Carolina scored just three points off their three takeaways.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love kept his unit moving, completing 30 of his 41 throws for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Green Bay converted on nine of their 16 third-down attempts.
After a gutsy 12-play, 70-yard touchdown drive kept them alive, the Panthers would get the ball back—down 27-19—with 4:35 left in the game. The offense, however, would turn it over on downs on just four plays—ending with an incomplete pass on a fourth-and-5 intended for wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
Carolina then got a last breath from their own 20-yard line with 22 seconds remaining. But a sack of Young on the first play of the desperation drive crushed any sliver of hope that may have been left.
RB Chuba Hubbard: 22 carries, 81 rushing yards, rushing touchdown, seven receptions, 38 receiving yards
S Zakee Wheatley: seven tackles, interception
S Nick Scott: five tackles, forced fumble, two passes defensed
The Panthers (3-4) will return home to host the Denver Broncos (5-2) in Week 9.
