Conor McGregor is facing a new wave of accusations from former friend and training partner Artem Lobov, who has publicly questioned how the Irish fighter treated the people closest to him during his rise to fame. In a series of posts on X, Lobov alleged that McGregor failed to honor financial agreements with several friends, coaches and teammates who had supported him throughout his career.
Lobov named several people from McGregor's inner circle, including longtime coach John Kavanagh, as well as Lee, Derek, Gerry Vegas and Charlie. He claimed they were promised money for deals and services that helped generate revenue but never received the payments they had agreed upon. According to Lobov, the situation reflected a broader pattern of McGregor leaving behind people who had remained loyal to him.
Among his accusations, Lobov brought up McGregor's 2017 boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr., claiming Kavanagh received far less than the five percent share he was allegedly promised. He also accused McGregor of dismissing longtime friend Derek shortly before Christmas and failing to complete an agreed payment to Gerry following a training camp. Lobov further claimed Lee, who founded and directed The Mac Life, received just 500 euros per week before taxes for years.
The former UFC fighter also revisited the dispute surrounding Proper No. Twelve whiskey, claiming McGregor's manager, Audie Attar, had taken advantage of both of them in the business arrangement. Lobov said he had shown McGregor exceptional loyalty and argued that alcohol and drug abuse had contributed to the deterioration of relationships within the fighter's circle. These claims remain Lobov's allegations and have not been independently verified.
The accusations became even more serious when Lobov addressed the hostility between the two former friends. He alleged that McGregor sent people to set fire to his car and threaten his 60-year-old mother with a hammer. He also claimed the UFC star chose to confront him through social media rather than contact him directly, adding that one of McGregor's challenges came at around 4 a.m., while he was asleep with his children.
Despite the bitter accusations, Lobov also looked back at the friendship they once shared. He recalled how McGregor supported him during his conflict with Khabib Nurmagomedov's team ahead of the infamous UFC 223 bus incident in Brooklyn in 2018. The two had previously trained together at Straight Blast Gym in Ireland, with Lobov playing a role in McGregor's early development as a fighter.
