All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Nicolo Tresoldi, Gustavo Varela and Vinicius Jr.
Article continues under the videoClub Brugge have no intention of selling Nicolo Tresoldi in January, TEAMtalk claims.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a key target for Arsenal in their search for a possible Viktor Gyokeres replacement. Tresoldi has scored prolifically for Club Brugge since joining last year and is already on nine goals for the season.
Numerous other clubs are also closely following his development, but prising him away from Brugge won't be easy. The Belgian side have ruled out a January move, while signing him in the summer will require a record fee north of €40 million.
Arsenal are keeping tabs on Monza striker Gustavo Varela, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
The 21-year-old joined the Italian club from Benfica in the summer and has started like a house on fire. Varela has scored six goals in six Serie A outings and also bagged a brace in his sole Coppa Italia appearance.
Arsenal are monitoring the Portugal youth international's development, while Napoli have already expressed an interest in a potential transfer. They are likely to bring in a striker in January, with Lorenzo Lucca deemed surplus to requirements.
Michael Yormack of Roc Nation has revealed that Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr "seriously considered" joining Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners were ready to pounce on the Brazil international in case he failed to agree a new contract with Real Madrid, but they were ultimately left disappointed as Vinicius decided to remain in Spain. According to Yormack, the Gunners made a big push for the 26-year-old.
“Did he ever seriously consider Arsenal? I mean, of course," he said. "When a team like Arsenal rolls out the red carpet for you and makes you feel really wanted, then obviously you have to listen."
Xavi Espart put in a strong performance for Barcelona in their 4-2 loss to PSG in the Champions League.
The full-back, who had primarily played on the left in the preceding games, started in his more natural right-back position against the Parisians and locked down Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He also netted Barcelona's opening goal.
Arsenal will have been impressed with his display. The 19-year-old has been linked with the Gunners in recent days, although it is unlikely that Barcelona have any appetite to sell their latest La Masia sensation.
Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has admitted that he would love to play in LaLiga one day.
The 31-year-old has spent his entire professional career in England after leaving Catalan side Cornella for Blackburn Rovers as a teenager. He ended up at Arsenal via Brentford in 2023.
"Yes, I would love to, I would love to try LaLiga," Raya told MARCA. For now, I'm very happy here, but I would like to try the Spanish league. I think it's a very competitive league. Maybe, in the future, I could play for a Spanish club. I'm Spanish, and I would love to play there, that's for sure."
